2007 was a great year for 7 Lucky Dogs with 2008 starting out with a bang. I read a great book during the holiday break entitled, “Getting Things Done” by David Allen. I highly recommend it to all of my clients. It will take you approximately two dedicated weekends; one to read the book and the other to implement all of its time saving tricks to keep you organized and in control of your work.
Small business owners wear many hats during the course of a day, with too much to do and not enough time. This is especially true for those in a service industry. Your revenue is directly related to your workflow. Better workflow=more money. But what happens when you have too much to do and five different tasks need your immediate attention? The best thing for anyone in this position is to establish a system that will not only make them more productive, but also feel good about their task prioritization. This main principle is the focus of Mr. Allen’s book. After all, he is “The personal productivity guru.” – Fast Company
I’ll start a recommended book list for my clients and will include it here on the blog as well. The list will include business books that I find to be useful to small biz as well as any those pertaining directly to the pet industry.
